As you can see by the pregnancy progress bar, we are half way there. Since the expected date is next year it still seems like it’s far, far away but if the second half goes as fast as the first, we will be knee deep in poopies sooner than we think.
Anticipation for the 20 week ultrasound can be an anxious time because that’s when they can start to see if there are any problems. This is when they count fingers and toes, look at the spine and can tell you if the baby is predisposed to being an exhibitionist (they can find out the gender if the baby is positioned correctly).
Our technician at the birthing center was very careful not to reveal the gender and even added some text to some of the printouts saying that it is a surprise. She also did a 3D printout and assured us that the crazy blob was totally normal and only had a .0001 percent chance of being an alien, though I’m still not entirely convinced.
